Kabul, Afghanistan – UN Assistance Mission UNAMA

Since August 2021, AMI has provided an Aeromedical Evacuation Team (AMET) and Forward Surgical Team (FST) to the UN Joint Medical Service Compound in Kabul. During the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan, AMI deployed staff to Kabul. Despite the risk and threat posed by Taliban forces to AMI’s staff, AMI provided medical support for the United Nation’s mission. In addition to AMET services, our capabilities include Emergency Surgery, Damage Control Resuscitation and Damage Control Surgery, and a short-term holding capacity.

Mosul, Iraq – World Health Organization

AMI was contracted by the World Health Organization (WHO) to provide healthcare professionals and hospital management to 3 field trauma hospitals in Mosul, Iraq. This site required a rapid start up in a humanitarian emergency — AMI was ready to open the hospital within 9 days of signing the contract. Each hospital had 2 operating theatres, 48 bed wards, Laboratory, Pharmacy, X-ray, and an Emergency room. To deliver these services, AMI recruited a team of 25 expatriate and more than 100 local personnel to each facility, including emergency physicians, surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and paramedics.

Mogidishu, Somalia – United Nations (UNSOS)

AMI provides commercial medical services for the United Nations Level 1+ facility in UNSOS Somalia. The AMI Medical team is on-site to support 30,000 UN staff and their families offering outpatient care, emergency medical care, surgical services, emergency response services, dental services, COVID related care, and in-patient services. AMI collaborates with AMISOM Medical Personnel at the Level II hospital where AMI is responsible for the operating laboratory, pharmacy and imaging services. AMI also provides mentoring, training, and capacity building for AMISOM medical personnel on an ongoing basis.

Liberia – USAID

AMI established and provided clinical services for 10 Ebola treatment hospitals with a 1,500 member team in response to the West African Ebola Outbreak.

Hudaydah, Yemen – United Nations

In December 2018, the United Nations requested the urgent deployment of  Forward Surgical and  Aeromedical Evacuation Teams (AMET) to Hudaydah, Yemen in support of the newly authorized Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement. AMI responded and was able to mobilize both teams as well as all necessary equipment and materials within 2 weeks. In addition to the clinical aspect, AMI provided full camp logistics and maintenance services, including medical supply chain logistics

Benin + Uganda, COP26 – Palladium

AMI was involved in the COP26 – United Nations Climate Change Conference Vaccination Program. Committed to making the COP26 Summit both inclusive and COVID-19 safe, the United Kingdom Government provided COVID-19 vaccines to COP delegates that would otherwise not be able to access them. Contracted by Palladium, AMI led the COP26 vaccination efforts on the ground in Benin and Uganda.
