Providing medical services to remote and challenging environments requires highly skilled individuals who possess a multitude of unique skillsets from first aid and trauma medical skills to cardiopulmonary resuscitation to making medical and evacuation decisions. AMI Logistics Manager Charlie Newton does just that, and more.
“We really don’t get caught up with titles here. We are focused on our clients and do what is needed,” Newton shares. As a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness Therapy expert, Newton continues, “I love working for AMI because of the expeditionary lifestyle. I love moving around and taking on challenges. My primary responsibilities are ordering supplies, managing inventory, and coordinating logistics with our supply chain teams on the ground. However, I love the issues that pop up throughout the day that give me the chance to apply my vast array of skills. Working at AMI allows me to use my growth mindset.”
Another reason Newton enjoys working for AMI is the company’s high value on hard work. “The company offers opportunities for upward mobility. As a result of my work ethic, I was here a month before I moved up. It is a good fit for me because I feel seen, and my work gets noticed. I appreciate being recognized for my work on a project. It encourages me to keep working hard.”
Teamwork is another pillar of AMI’s workplace. Newton appreciatively shared, “Everyone is supportive, working to achieve the same goal. It’s pretty great working with AMI. We all have each other’s best interests at heart.”
