In support of the Freetown fire explosion victims in the devastating fuel tanker blast last week which took 140 lives and left dozens critically injured, AMI Sierra Leone has donated medical supplies and medication to Freetown’s Connaught Hospital. Included in the items presented to hospital officials were wound dressings, antibiotics, injections, IV fluids and painkillers, water, and a host of other medications costing millions of Leones.
AMI Sierra Leone’s Country Manager Kadie-Yatta Kallon stated, “The donations have been made as a way of giving back to society and to help fellow Sierra Leoneans who have gone through this tragic period…This is not the first time AMI is doing such a gesture to Connaught and other government hospitals. Our hearts go out to the beautiful people of this community going through such loss, living in critical conditions – this is why we want to help as much as possible.”
