“It was my dream to become a pharmacist because it is my professional goal to serve as a resource to the individuals in my community by providing education and working alongside them to better their health and overall wellbeing. Participating in the COVID vaccination clinic in Rock County allowed me to achieve this goal. It also allowed me to accomplish my personal goal of taking pride in my work and knowing that at the end of the day, I did my best to positively impact the lives of those around me.
I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of the COVID clinic since day one. I cannot think of a single component of the rotation that I did not find enjoyable. I was honored to be a part of a team that is made up of amazing individuals, all of whom were passionate about their work. I enjoyed the interprofessional interactions that developed into friendships. I enjoyed celebrating the joy and relief that the patients felt after receiving the vaccine. I enjoyed knowing that every day I was making a difference in my own community.
I enjoyed knowing that our efforts are steps in the right direction to achieving the goal of regaining normalcy and living our lives in a world that is not controlled by the COVID-19 pandemic. I am thankful that Concordia provides such opportunities to their students because had it not been for Dr. Theesfeld and George Kowalski, I would not have known how passionate I am about emergency and disaster relief. My life has been profoundly changed for the better and am truly grateful for this opportunity.”
